The Beach Boys kick off 12 weeks of live music on Radio 2

BBC Radio 2 has announced an amazing line-up of internationally acclaimed music stars who are set to perform in a series of special In Concert performances in the run-up to Christmas.

The impressive list of artists already confirmed to wow the Radio 2 audience in these exclusive performances include The Pet Shop Boys, Mika, Kate Rusby And Friends, Muse, Florence And The Machine, Train and The Script. A host of other exciting names are also set to perform.

The concerts start on Monday 24 September with a special performance by American band The Beach Boys and run each week until mid-December. The intimate performances will allow listeners to get up close and personal with some of the biggest acts around.

The Pet Shop Boys will perform a one-off concert with the full force of the BBC Philharmonic orchestra in Salford. The concert will feature some of their greatest hits as well as a tribute to Alan Turing, the ‘father of computer science’.

Indie rock band Florence And The Machine will be performing a special home-coming concert in the iconic south east London venue the Rivoli Ballroom.

The concerts will be hosted by Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley. As well as introducing the performances Jo will also be chatting to the acts after their big performances.
