BBC Entertainment announces Sarah Millican series for BBC Two

Award-winning comedian Sarah Millican has landed her own series on BBC Two. The Sarah Millican Television Show (working title) will be mix of Sarah's unique and brilliant stand-up with some special guests along the way.

The 6x30-minute series will be filmed in front of a studio audience at the new media hub of the North, MediaCityUK in Salford, early next year.

Sarah said: "I am thrilled to be making a series for BBC Two, so thrilled that I do little claps every time I think about it."

The series will be a co-production between Sarah's production company and a first for the Scottish arm of So Television.

The series has been commissioned by Controller of BBC Two, Janice Hadlow, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning, Mark Linsey, and BBC Executive Editor of Entertainment Commissioning, Alan Tyler

Sarah won the if.comedy award for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was nominated for a Comedy Award 2011. Since then she has been a panellist on several high-profile shows including: Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, Would I Lie To You? and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, as well as Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. Sarah hosts her own radio series Sarah Millican's Support Group on BBC Radio 4 and is also a regular co-host on BBC Radio 5 Live satirical news show 7 Day Sunday.
