Here we provide the facts about some of the BBC stories that you may have read about in the news. We’ll use these pages to correct misconceptions about the BBC and give more information about some of the issues that are receiving attention and comment from others.
Our move to MediaCityUK in Salford Quays is regularly scrutinised in the media. BBC North is one of the most ambitious projects in our history and will create a new centre of excellence outside London for production, technology development, training and digital media. The move starts in May 2011 and the project is on time and on budget.
At the BBC we recognise the need for greater restraint in executive pay, reflecting the financial constraints facing the rest of the media industry, the public sector and licence fee payers in general.

The Government and the BBC have reached an agreement over the future funding of the BBC. The licence fee will remain at its current level (£145.50) until the end of the Charter in 2016/17.
