Helena's Diary: Thursday.
It's party time in the Maria House for Siobhan.
Thursday 31st August
Oh, our suspicious minds! We were asked to make sure we exfoliate and not moisturise this morning as people are coming to the house to give us spray tans which is always nice. So my room was up at 7am and downstairs ready to leave at 8.30am, although the other girls were nowhere to be seen and a couple of the production team that I had heard milling about in the kitchen had disappeared.
So I tucked into my crumpets when Shivy appeared on the balcony and said we weren't being picked up until 9am – doh, I could have had an extra half an hour in bed.
I would have loved it if the cars were limos but everything went according to plan, no surprises. I don't think we can believe how normal this week is – there's chance to sleep and I think we're all expecting a frightening awakening in the mornings. I now have a feeling that our crazy days will be Friday and Saturday as we have heard neither hide nor hair about our Maria Mission, maybe we don't have one this week!
There are also hardly any crew in today – it's so weird, again we thought maybe they were hiding in a secret location that we would be taken to later on in the day! I really think it's going to be a normal day in the life of the Marias. SLEEP is absolutely on the agenda!
What a surprise. We all arrived back at the house last night and there were about 50 balloons in the hallway and 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' signs with crepe paper. We screamed, so loud, and bundled Shivy in. We had a proper children's birthday party with party bags, and hats and a big birthday cake.
We said we'd give ourselves 20 minutes to get our glad rags on before we let rip! So we all dressed up and made our entrance to the party.
However, later that night we not only had costume fittings, but a lady came round to give us spray tans. A very amusing event. I looked like I'd spent two weeks in Ibiza! However the residue washed off in the morning and we're not as brown as we were.
We had a wicked night though, we were all desperate to let our hair down and relax. This show is our life right now and it's so important to take a break from it once in a while, otherwise we lose track of ourselves.

There must be some very tone deaf people out there! Am I the only person who hears all those bum notes the others sing? You are brilliant Helena, you have never deserved to be in the bottom two, but it gave you the opportunity to show the amazing strength of character you have. Helena. I would pay to see you as Maria in the Sound of Music. I didn't have a favourite Maria the first week, but after you sang 'Woman in Love' in the second show you became Maria for me. There are three potential Maria's who have consistently been in my top 3 - Connie, Abby and Helena. In both of the last two, occasionally things haven't gone quite right, but both display enormous potential and ability which places them above many of their co-Maria's. Certainly, you shouldn't be in the bottom two. Keep up the good work. x
