How To Vote

After the audition shows it's time for the sing-offs! Each Saturday night How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria's three experts will give their verdicts on our hopefuls.

But it's not up to them who will go through. You, the viewer, will choose by phoning to vote for your favourite Maria. When the phone lines are closed the two with fewest votes will sing head-to-head for Andrew to decide.

Text 'Vote' then the name of the singer to 87222

Calls cost 25p from a BT landline, other networks may vary. At least 12p will go to fund new musical theatre talent as described below, the remainder is for tax, operator and administration charges. Text cost 25p plus standard message rate, at least 9p of which will go to fund new musical theatre talent. The proceeds will be divided between two separate funds as follows:

- One half of the proceeds from each call/text (up to a maximum total amount of £40,000) will go to fund musical theatre training for eligible Maria finalists - not all finalists will be eligible to apply (i.e. ten finalists not eligible) and not all those who apply will be awarded a bursary; all sums in excess of £40,000 and any sums not awarded to Maria finalists will go to the Fame Academy Bursary Trust

- The Fame Academy Bursary Trust, Registered Charity 1101276, will initially receive the other half of the proceeds from each call/text and, once the amount allocated to the fund for Maria finalists reaches £40,000, all of the proceeds from each call/text will go to the Fame Academy Bursary Trust which will use the funds to award bursaries for the advancement of musical theatre. Any sums not awarded for musical theatre bursaries by the Fame Academy Bursary Trust may be awarded as grants for the advancement of performing arts pursuant to the Trust's objects.

Multiple voting is not allowed. To safeguard the voting process the BBC has measures in place which detect irregular voting patterns and reserves the right to disallow any votes on this basis without refunding the cost of the call/text. In such circumstances the BBC's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
