All
of these pupils are taught through a combination of spoken English
and Sign Language by staff working for Manchester's Service for
the Hearing Impaired.
The
deaf pupils spend some of the time in class with hearing children.
They are also taught in small groups and individually in a room
resourced for their use.
The
level of integration varies from pupil to pupil depending on the
child's communication and educational needs.
Pupils
through the school, both deaf and hearing, are encouraged to value
Sign Language as a Community Language.
The
pupils recently performed their school song for us.

GIVE
IT ALL YOU'VE GOT! (The Alma Park School Song)
We are the Children of Alma Park
We take a pride in the things we do
Learning together and having fun
Who's for a good day? EVERYONE!
Give it 1 ..., Give it 2 ..., give it 1-2-3!
Give it 1 ..., Give it 2 ..., give it 1-2-3!
Give it all you've got
'Cause you've really got a lot!
Give it heart, give it mind,
Give it soul, don't stop! (repeat)
CHORUS
Everyone
is special Everybody has a gift
So we're gonna work together.
And we're gonna learn to give! (repeat)
