In recent weeks the army cadets have been advised not to wear their uniforms for their own protection from people against the army's presence in Iraq. They talk about their own feelings about the conflict.

"The day before war broke out there was a mini riot in the school I go to. Me and a few of my friends who disagreed with the war joined in and we managed to break out of the school grounds. People were told that if they were to protest they were to go into Manchester.

"At the beginning of the war I did see it as a shambles because there were a lot of instances going on that shouldn't have happened with the friendly fire incidents.

"It seemed a bit surreal living through a war."

"I think it's a great thing that has been done by two countries willing to take the risk and responsibilities of what the aftermath of that would be and say look we can give a country freedom".
