Sean Livesey - Interview with a Northern newie
updated 13/08/03
Sean Livesey Northern Soul is not, usually associated with the first flush of youth but for one young DJ ilistening to his dad's records started a passion for soul music.
Sean Livesey
"I just love the music ... if more people got to hear it they would too.
It needs new people."

Sean Livesey from Wigan is younger than most of the records in his current play box.

It's been a fight to be taken seriously by the established Northern DJs and he's still taking some flak, but a residency at Bury Town Hall, guest spots in London and appearances at weekenders has meant that slowly he's gaining respect.

Sean grew up listening to his parents records and when they stopped going to all-nighters he took up the mantle and the vinyl.

He says it's all about the music and that if more young people got to hear Northern Soul they'd love it.So Clubbing asked him why Northern Soul gets to him?
