Introducing… Delphic

Freeing themselves from a band they had grown tired of, Delphic are stamping themselves on the Manchester’s music scene with a series of impromptu raves.

What we think:

"Intricate, illuminating and intriguing, Delphic's sound is one filled with fresh enthusiasm and fine songwriting. Combining surging rhythms with powerful emotion, they're crafting a superior brand of future indie that has every chance of rocketing them out of Manchester and into the nation’s consciousness."

Chris Long

Who is in the band?

"There are four of us: Dan, James, Matt and Rick. Between us we play drums, guitar, bass, synthesizers and drum pads."

What type of music do you play?

“We write electronic music then try to play it with a full band set-up."

What’s the Delphic story?

"Three of us formed out of the ashes of a previous band about eight months ago. We were stuck in a band making music we didn’t really want to play, so we decided to start something new.

"We all moved in together and started writing songs. Then we came across this gonzo drum and bass drummer and added him to the line up. He doesn’t live with us though."

How are things going?

"We have only played a handful of gigs so far, the highlight being a spontaneous rave in the basement of Night and Day Café.

"It’s all very new, but there is lots planned over the next few months, including some more impromptu raves - we have a generator so they could crop up anywhere… we are thinking Goyt Valley for our next one!"
