Science made simple

From creating the first computer to the splitting of the atom, via the first test-tube baby and discovering colour-blindness, Manchester is a city built on science – but what's the burning science question on the minds of modern Mancunians?

BBC Radio Manchester is inviting eminent scientist, International Fellow of the Explorers Club, ultra clever physicist and former member of pop group D:REAM, Dr Brian Cox, onto the radio between 12 and 2pm on Tuesday 25 July to answer some of the conundrums that plague, infuriate, annoy or just plain puzzle the populace.

You know the kind of thing: why is the sky blue? Why doesn’t vodka freeze? What’s the point of eyebrows? How do you make ball bearings? How does a painkiller know where the pain is? Why are bubbles round?

Send your questions using the form below and Dr Cox will answer some of the best on air (and we’ll have the answers here too!)

What's your question for Dr Cox?
