"You can’t go forward - all you can do is keep looking back to see if there's anything that you've missed"
Mum Jean Harmon

His mum Jean lives in Manchester and is desperate for news of him. She has used up her widow's pension and left herself penniless looking for her son. Occasionally, her hopes have been raised, only to be cruelly dashed again.

"Some people rang up about 4 - 6 months ago to say they thought they'd seen him but when the police checked into it, it wasn’t him," said Jean.

James, who was living in Romford at the time, has relatives in Dagenham and contacts in Ilford and Barking. When he went missing, James was working part time as a doorman at the Robin Hood pub in Longbridge Road and also as a mechanic/fitter.

"You can’t go forward - all you can do is keep looking back to see if there's anything that you've missed," said Jean.

If you have seen James please call the National Missing Persons Helpline on Freephone 0500 700 700. All calls are free and confidential.
