Ellen, now 56, is originally from Eire. In November 1999, she had been staying with her sister, Bertha Lee, in Manchester after her mother died. Bertha dropped Ellen at Piccadilly Station. Ellen was meant to go to Holyhead and then on to her home in Dublin by ferry. But she never arrived. | "I don’t know why, but I do think I'd sense it or know it if she was dead. " | | Ellen's sister Bertha |
Despite being missing for so long, Bertha is convinced her sister is still alive: "I don’t know why, but I do think I'd sense it or know it if she was dead. Plus, another thing - I really do think they'd have found her body if she's died." She's from a very close family and they're all extremely concerned for Ellen as she had been depressed following her mother’s death. Bertha says: "She's the topic of all conversations if you know what I mean. You cant not do it and you cant get 'round it." Although there has been no news of Ellen - who sometimes goes by the name of Cleo Brown - it is believed that she may be in the Shropshire area. Ellen is 5ft 3ins tall, of slight build with long greying dark brown hair which she mostly ties back. She is very softly spoken, but is usually very sociable and friendly.
