Where does the name The Library Trust come from?

"People kept telling me at home to apply for 'that pop idol' so I thought a change was needed."
Robert Edwards on why he left his home town and moved to Manchester

"Honestly? Both my parents are librarians and I was always surrounded by books as a kid. I was a librarian myself for nine months... I wanted something that felt comfy and would give me confidence, although I do keep getting emails about school book funding."

Why did you decide to make the move to Manchester?

"I'm not from that far away, it's the nearest big city. People kept telling me at home to apply for ‘that pop idol’ so I thought a change was needed."

How has Manchester changed the way you write songs?

"To be honest it's made me concentrate on where I come from more. As a teenager you dream of the big lights and the buzz; Manchester to me was a Mecca and I love living in Manchester but I feel a certain pang of homesickness for my small rural town. Of course I get back and want to leave after ten minutes, but the thought's there."

There's already been praise heaped on your demos. What are you expecting now you're onto an official release?

"Loads of flak! It's nice to read good things but if you absorb the good you better steel yourself against the bad, it's bound to come at some point..."

Why is the EP called Build Your Own Snow Globe?

"I was in a bookshop and I heard someone ask for ‘Build Your Own Snow Globe’. I thought it sounded like a great book title but then I saw what it was, it was a little novelty pack to actually build a snow globe. I thought I would give it a better home."

If you did build your own snow globe, how would it look?

"I'm not very good at building things. I would be the creative director and shout things like ‘more snow!’"

How are things looking for the future?

"There is more to come, maybe another EP before an album, but I have the songs ready and a list of possible titles. The thing that terrifies me at the minute is playing live but the screws are tightening."
