The City of Manchester Stadium was a bit of a change of scenery for the One Foot in The Grave actor Richard Wilson, who spends a lot of time across the city watching Manchester United. Today's visit saw Richard sporting the famous Comic Relief Red Nose, which this year sports a multi-coloured head of hair, "It looks a little out of place on my head," Richard quipped. Richard has been a supporter of Comic Relief and first became involved in Red Nose Day back in 1993. In 1995 Richard went to Uganda where he visited a refugee camp for people fleeing the war in Sudan. Richard says, "Visiting a place like that really brings home the reality of what is happening in countries like this." There are lots of events planned for this year's Red Nose Day on March 11th, including our very own Elvis-a-thon where we are inviting people all over Greater Manchester dress up as Elvis Presley and send us their pictures to add to our gallery of look-a-likes.

We're also asking you to vote for your favourite Elvis track and inviting you to join us in Exchange Square where BBC GMR's Phil Wood will lead a sing-a-long of the top tune via the BBC's Big Screen. You can hear a special interview with Richard Wilson on Wednesday morning's Breakfast Show on BBC GMR between 6.30 and 9 hosted by Heather Stott and Mark Edwardson. |
