we should give malcolm the clup then we get new players and the

This is the end of Manchester United as the fans know it. It is a club that is loved not just a business
Simon, Manchester
Manchetser United is a publically listed company. As soon as they floated on the stock market the fans lost any control they ever had over the club. The demise of Manchester United and the other big clubs began when the Premiership was cenceived and Sky got involved. Maybe he'll rename it to Manchester McNited.
Good ON Yer
Good thing him taking overwhats wrong with a man taking full control of a bussines, stops any of the fans getting thier hands on trying to run a bussines especially when the fans probably dont know the first thing about trying to run a bussiness he has my 100% support
joe
there is nothing positive about glazer. £20 mill can't buy good players. he will turn the greatest club with the best history into a business and nothing else
Gerry
Has Irish race horse magnates John Magnier and J.P. McManus let Glazer in through the back door?
mike mccormick
i dont agree with takeover he is just gonna take the club into great amounts of debt an to be ruled by someone who hasnt got any love for the club is disgusting
conall halferty
I dont think he should because he dosnthave enough money to get us the players we need
steve wall
until we opt out of being a plc we will continue to struggle. the same fans who oppose glazer would also oppose bill gates its not a fan thing or a club thing it is for thier own image that they get on the bandwagon.......... welcome to manchester mr glazer most mancunians will make you very welcome.
scotty
it is a outrage that some one that doesnt even like english football can just walk over and take over the greatest club in the world. he must be stopped
Al Gray
i think he will give the club good times again. unlike 3rd in the prem.
scotty
it is a outrage that some one that doesnt even like english football can just walk over and take over the greatest club in the world. he must be stopped
saddayforfootball
if you want to get rid of him and support manchester united organise the fans to travel to the away games and boycott home games
united fan
he doesn't get it, all the mancunians hate him and he can't just leave it alone. he's greedy and doesn't care about the fans. he'll ruin the club.
Neil
Man U not for sale ? Then what are it's shares doing on the stock market - it is for sale and has been ever since flotation..Man U fans have had years to buy sufficient shares to block a takeover bid. Don't cry like a woman for that which you wouldn't defend like a man
Diane
We will end up fielding the national U.S. side because all our players will jump ship and Fergie aswell.
Steven Chew - Malaysia
It's in deed a sad news to Man Utd's Fan but the fans has to see on the better side of malcolm. What he done is not acceptable but maybe he is trying to improve Man Utd to be like Real Madrid, where we will have great players, Money for Sir Alex Ferguson to fight in the tranfer market, New stadium that will bring OT to another higher level and only club that have cheerleaders in EPL. This is the risk Man Utd have to take.
Kevin C
To all the fans who are unhappy about this possible takeover, put your money where your mouth is - join Sharholders United - www.shareholdersunited.org - and get us to the 25% shareholding target! With less than 75% sharholding Glazer's debt (with an interest payment of around 30 mill per year) will be HIS debt, not the fans' debt. Make the whole thing backfire on him, then slowly but surely we can start to take back control of the club. P.s Chris Ecclestone - why are you seemingly the only "rich" fan able to put money into stopping Glazer?
John
This one act has ripped out the very soul of this great club. Now who will give United back to its people?
Darren( MUFC TILL I DIE!!)
IF HE DOES TO UNITED WHAT HE HAS DONE TO THE BUCCANEERS IT CAN ONLY BE GOOD, TREBLED THERE VALUE IN 3 YEARS, I AM NOT AT ALL HAPPY ABOUT HE DESERVES A CHANCE, UNITED WILL BE THERE A LOT LONGER THAN GLAZER FAMILY.
ian
i live in tampa and believe me the man is a greedy worthless gnome and is also hated over here
Daniel Barton
I am a manchester united fan and i believe he should be given a chance, because the club needs something new and exciting. I wish these fans could be more vocal at the games.
bernard
This will kill the club if he takes over fregie will go rio , ronaldo and vanistrool will leave (just like LEEDS UNITED)
Gwynne
The Reds would be dumb to accept this guy's offer. The fans should be more important to them than the money.
JAMES NELSON
Supporter of over 35 years- football allegaince passed from father to son. It is all about money for Glazer and MUFC is much more than that. I will not step back in to Old Trafford whilst he is charge and buy nothing connected with the club. Absoutely gutted- will go cry under my bed clothes like I did when I was a nipper after a lost game!
KEITH
its an absoulte disater for united ..if anyone thinks hes going to pump money into the club to buy players is sadly mistaken. This is all a money making excercise to line his own pockets..he will distroy the club turning it from a profit making club into a debt ridden one over night .and fans who have sat back in the last year and not pledge anything to share holders united will now; im sure be thinking long and hard ..we all need to join together and fight this man every inch of the way...manchester united should be for the people of manchester and not some yanks play thing
Si - MANU FC fan from Canada
I dont think anything can stop Glazer from buying the team now. I suppose there isnt much that can be done. Lets just hope that Glazer will do the Club proud.
BEN
I THINK MAN U GOING DOWN NOW TIME IS OVER FOR THEM
man u life
the manchester club should belong to manchester!!!
if he wants to buy the club come and watch a game fell the atmosphere then he will no he cant wreck it!
sean mittchell
Remeber leeds! !!! wat happend to them get money, spend money now in the championship! dont let this american scum take over the greatest football team on earth! ticket prices will rise! all the money we spend will go to the him and not the club! think about it!!! MUFC NOT FOR SALE
Cait
United not for sale? Well no, not anymore!
aidy
he's only willing to put 20million on the table for new players, in my opinion the man does'nt care. He's just using united to make a profit for himself. United will be fine without him! GLAZER OUT!!!!!!!
Dennis
As a Yankee whose parents were both born in England,I have followed football and supported Man.U. since my early teens. The idea that any individual or corporation that was not owned or controlled by an englishman is sad.
But, people must realize that it is a business and people look to the team as an investment. If Glazer were out of the picture, would the new owners by from the Middle East or Asia?? Whats the difference? Nothing at all. People should grow up and understand the world.
AMericans don't understand Football.
Glazer is a rich American, and rich Americans are not interested in the Premier league, not interested in the Fa Cup, neither in the CHampions LEague. The only thing they are is that they are greedy and capitalists . REJECT HIS BID, PLEASE REJECT HIS BID
Baz
Today should be mourned like Feb 6th. There are no positives about this situation. Fight for United! At least stop him getting to the 75% mark.
Paddy
What's the betting that Fergie and Keano will call it quits after the Cup Final?
Ferdinand will join Chelsea.
Van Niestelroy will move to Spain.
Where will all this leave Rooney?
Next season should be very interesting.
Ian A
This is a disgrace I am a shareholder and have been going to Old Trafford for nearly 50 years. Glazer must be made to pay in the only way he will understand. If he is only doing this to asset strip the club and make money for himself it is up to the supporters to withdraw their support until he goes back under the stone from which he crawled. If no one buys merchandise and the ground is empty he will realise that this is a business with no customers!!!
Joe Duncan
Too much ABU crowing everywhere. I am not a United supporter, but this is a sad day for football in this country.Capitalist moneygrubbers have always been part of the game, right from its very earliest times, but this 'individual' is set to take things to a whole new level. He is banking on totally unproven revenue streams such as broadband internet pay-per-view to finance his immense borrowings. All I can say to the ABU tendency is 'Wait til it happens to you.'
Sandra
We are not a business to be bought and sold at a whim. We are one of the greatest teams ever and we do NOT NEED or WANT Glazer. We have tradition on our side and do NOT need an American to help us become greater. He will fleece everybody (except himself). I was born and bred in Manchester but for many years I am living in Switzerland. I am a member of Manchester United and also have some shares. I urge anyone who has our team at heart to join Shareholders United and help try to stop this man.
CdM
I say, let the free market economy do it's thing; if a Yankee Robber Baron wants to buy the team, so be it.
Maybe he'll move it America; wouldn't that be just chipper?
Andy
A debt-free successful club will now become a cash cow to be milked by Glazer. This man has no interest in our club's heritage or its history - he even made his last approach on the anniversary of the Munich disaster - that is the tyoe of man we are now dealing with - all he can see is dollar signs - I personally am very upset at this development and I fear the worst for the future
gutted of didsbury
I've been going to OT for 24 years now and I won't set foot in the place while that man owns it. This is nothing to do with him being an American and all to do with the fact that he is putting us £500 million into debt and has already demonstrated that he won't listen to us. As a Season Ticket holder I think in many ways I'm better qualified to comment than any city suit and I can tell you one thing for certain: THERE IS NO ENDLESS SUPPLY OF FANS. There have been many empty seats around where I sit all season and when you can't get to a game and try selling on your ticket it can be like pulling teeth at times. With tens thousands of true reds staying away next season if he gets his way his business plan could unravel very quickly, especially with the team only being supported by the passionless hordes who have infested our support over the last decade in a half empty stadium. If we do lose our club the only way to get it back will be by not giving him a penny. Whatever happens I sense that the next couple of weeks could be very eventful. Watch this space.
Charlotte
People think he is here because he wants to be.He wont buy new players he will milk us for all we have and rob us blind.By the end of the week we will have Ronaldo in a fat suit with a ginger beared!I have never liked him.We need someone who will buy good new players and put the club first!
Peter Crough
What will the CLUB be named after this? United States of Manchester?
Sean
The United fans should be happy. Maybe, in typical American style, Glaser will move Man Utd closer to London to be nearer their supporters?
IAN
DONT LIKE HIM
BUT IF HE BUYS GREAT PLAYERS SUCH AS ADRIANO/RONALDINO ITS OK
