"Secret Garden" A Secret Garden created inside the Bankley Gallery will offer the inspiration for a range of drawing activities. The garden will ‘grow’ as artwork is added during a show of projections on 23 Oct 4 - 5 pm. The event includes an exhibition of drawings by resident artists and is also part of the Levenshulme festival. "Exploring Drawing" Our theme is 'People, Structures and Spaces'. Our aim is to encourage everyone in the college to draw,with specific tasks in ongoing art classes and general drawing activities for all in public areas around college. We will explore different materials, tools, scales, formats and surfaces. Mark-making could be traditional or experimental. We will look at unusual ways of displaying drawings. "400th Anniversary of the Felt-Makers Guild" The Big Draw coincides with the 400th anniversary of the felt-makers guild. This anniversary is celebrated at HatWorks as felt was essential in the production of Hats. Celebrate with us by helping us design a huge patchwork felt-quilt. Draw your design and transfer it on to felt. Drawn designs and the felt-quilt will be displayed at the musuem in 2005.
