Commonword All Comers Poetry Slam

The Commonword All Comers Poetry Slam takes place at the Frog and Bucket on Wednesday 13th October, 7.30pm as part of the Manchester Poetry Festival.

So, have you got what it takes to do battle with the city’s leading wordsmiths? Would you like to earn a place in the Manchester Poetry Festival history book?

The Slam isn't just about performing, it's also a fantastic spectator sport!

At the end of the night, last year’s king and queen, Diké Omeje and Pauline Omoboye, will be handing over their crowns and £100 cheques to the two winners - one chosen by the audience and one by a panel of celebrity judges.

If you’d like to throw your hat into the ring give Cathy or Pete a call on 0161 832 3777.

Meanwhile last year's winners, Diké Omeje and Pauline Omoboye, as part of their prize, won a publishing deal with Crocus Books.

Their collections, Crafting the Practice and Purple Mother are to be placed into poetic orbit at a special event at Night & Day Café, 26 Oldham Street, Central Manchester on  Tuesday 21st September, 7.30pm.
