The film hooks you in right from the beginning, by showing the relationship between Shalu (Preity) and Stepmother Sarita, played by the evergreen Rekha.

As the twosome often clash, they prefer too avoid each other. Sarita concentrates on her career as Mayor of the small town and Shalu spends most of her time in the company of her loved ones, including sister Nimmi (Mahima Chaudhry) and best friend Samir (Jimmy Shergill).

The relationship takes a turn for the worst when Dev (Arjun Rampal) enters the town and both sisters fall for him.

Dil Hai Tumhaara has an encouraging start but it soon begins to falter, this is primarily due to Kundan Shah's attempts at cramming far too much into one film. The Mother/Daughter relationship, should have remained as the films focus, instead of the introducing various subplots which included, love triangles and villainous politicians.

Preity Zinta is an integral part of the film and although good, she portrays a role similar too many she's played previously, the bubbly yet self sacrificing sister in 'Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega' comes to mind often whilst watching Shalu.

Mahima played her role to perfection as the loving elder sister, although not a huge part, she stood out and made you sympathise with her character.

Arjun Rampal was charming in his light role and made you understand why both sisters fell for Dev, unlike why both men, fell for Shalu.

Jimmy Shergill made a big mistake accepting the role of Shalu's child hood friend, he is insignificant in the film and it does absolutely nothing for him.

Rekha is as gorgeous as ever and plays the wicked Stepmother with ease.

Dil Hai Tumhaara is worth a watch but you still can't help feeling that an opportunity to make a different, female orientated and fantastic film has been missed.

Rating: 6/10

From Janvi, UK
dil hai tumhara is a really good film, it is a typical indian film with a love triangle but it is really sweet, the bond between the two sisters, i mean some blood related sisters aren't as close as that. everyone played their role reasonabily perfectly, it was a good film.

From rahmadi, bogor-indonesia
i think this movie is very good and i am very happy watch it.

From Sundar, Malaysia
So the reviewer thinks that the director tried to cram too much into the film and should have focused on the mother-daughter relationship. Well, if he did that, then it wouldn't really be an Indian film, would it?

From Shafiqa, Malaysia
The plot of the stry is very good and it touch my feeling too. I feel so happy when I watch it.

From Zawanah, Singapore
I think the story is very good and I really enjoyed it very much. It is very sad and funny too.
