The Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay has almost completed its tour of Sri Lanka before it moves on to India on 29th May.

The Baton received a friendly but very wet welcome as it arrived in a heavy rain storm. It was met by the Prime Minister and then was carried around Colombo by local athletes.

On its second day it toured the Sri Lankan jungle by elephant and in the evening attended a presentation by a dance troupe in Sigiriya.

The Baton will complete the International leg of the relay and return to commence the UK route on 6 June 2002.
