Did you know...
'Recedham' was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.
The Rochdale Pioneers founded the first Co-operative Society in England here in 1844.
Famous people from Rochdale include Gracie Fields (performer), Sir Cyril Smith (MP) and Anna Friel (actor).
In 1926, Rochdale held the world record for having the widest bridge.
