Did you know...
The city takes its name from the Anglo-Saxon settlements, which bore the name Northwic.
"Tonight, from Norwich, it's the quiz of the week". Yes, Anglia Television brought us 'The Sale of the Century'. Fondly remembered, it ran for 12 years, from 1971 to 1983.
The Norwich canary was originally introduced into England about four hundred years ago by Flemish refugees who settled in and around the city of Norwich.
Norwich City Football Club go by the nickname of The Canaries.
