Did you know...
In 1783, the Prince of Wales visited the town and gave his royal seal of approval by deciding to build a house in the town. This later became The Royal Pavilion.
The town was depicted on film in the movies Brighton Rock and Quadrophenia.
Brighton and Hove was granted city status by the Queen in 2001.
The maze of narrow streets and alleyways just off the seafront is called 'The Lanes' and is the oldest part of Brighton.
Famous Brightonians include Chris Eubank (boxer), Max Miller (50's comedian), John Wisden (cricketer and published the Cricketers' Almanac).
