Did you know...
Berwick is the northernmost town in England.
When William Wallace (Braveheart) was executed in 1305 in London, one quarter of him was displayed in Berwick as a warning to other rebels.
Berwick has had two sets of protecting walls - the first walls were completed in the reign of Edward II andt he town was then fortified by Elizabeth I, starting in 1558.
The concrete 'New Bridge' crossing the Tweed was built in 1928 and was the longest concrete bridge of its time.
Berwick cockles are an old-fashioned peppermint sweet which are still being manufactured down the West street.
