Baton Route

Belfast will be celebrating the arrival of the Baton on Thursday, 6 June 2002.

Did you know...
In 1911 the world-famous Titanic was built and launched in Belfast's Harland &Wolff shipyard.
Famous people hailing from Belfast include Dame Mary Peters (athlete), George Best (footballer) and James Galway (flautist).
Belfast Town Hall has a main dome with a whispering gallery and a grand staircase, designed in three types of Italian marble.
The Crown Liquor Saloon in Great Victoria Street, Belfast is a fine example of Victorian gin palaces, restored in 1981 by the National Trust for £400,000.
