Tom Ingall

Tom is Look North's South Yorkshire reporter.

Tom's broadcasting skills were spotted by teachers at an early age.

"I was always picked on to read things out in school assemblies, gassing to a camera seemed a natural career choice," Tom said.

After completing a degree at Bradford University, Tom gained his first job in broadcasting at a cable television station in London. He said the station closed down soon after he left. He still insists that it was not his fault.

Tom enjoyed his stint in broadcasting and soon returned to Yorkshire to work as Look North's South Yorkshire reporter, which is based in Sheffield.

"I love this part of the world, it's a heck of a patch because the only thing it's missing is some coastline," said Tom.

"I was always picked on to read things out in school assemblies, gassing to a camera seemed a natural career choice."

Tom's work has involved travelling to Los Angeles and the South of France.  He has also covered a wide range of stories from the floods of 2007 to extreme ironing in a wind tunnel at Magna.

But one of his most memorable stories was reporting from HMS Sheffield.

"I doubt I'll ever forget my time on board HMS Sheffield where I was seasick in front of a NATO Commodore," Tom said.

When Tom is not working he indulges in his passion for steam trains and Doctor Who. These pastimes have occasionally cropped up on screen, but Tom said his colleagues have not take the mickey out of him too much.
