Gymnast's China hopes dashed

After veteran trampolinist Jaime Moore's high of securing Great Britain a place at this summer's Olympic Games has come the low of missing out on the chance to compete in China.

The gymnast's 11th place finish in the individual trampoline competition at the World Championships in Quebec in November booked a GB place in the event for Beijing.

But selectors based made their picked their team for the Games on the results from the past three major competitions.

But all is not lost - Jaime will still go to Beijing, as first reserve and is determined to ensure her rival Clare Wright benefits from all of her experience gained during the 2000 games in Sydney.

Jaime always knew winning a coveted place would not be easy.

"It's always difficult when you see your team mates like I've got youngster Yasmin Gumbs nipping at my heels and she knows she wants that place as well."
