The sites in the eastern region are among 600 nationwide going into an official brochure aimed at attracting competitors from the countries competing in the London 2012 Olympics.
Now it is up to the venues which made it to the brochure, effectively a shop window, to promote their facilities to attract athletes from around the world.
The training camp guide will be sent by London to all national Olympic and Paralympic committees later this year.
Each country will then decide where to base its athletes for London 2012.
'Great opportunity'
"It's a great opportunity for towns throughout the UK to get involved in our plans," said Lord Coe.
With their proximity to London, Essex and Hertfordshire have the biggest share of potential training camps from which competing nations can choose.
