Presenter and reporter Janine Machin
The latest presenter to join BBC Look East is Janine Machin, who is based in the west of the region.
When she was appointed Janine, whose base is Look East’s Cambridge studio, said: “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge of working for BBC Look East.”
The new presenter, who also reports for the programme, joined the BBC seven years ago after graduating from Oxford University.
Her career began at BBC Radio Stoke, where after answering phones on the station’s lunchtime programme, her talent was quickly spotted and she was given her own afternoon show.
From there she went on to co-present the station’s Breakfast Show.
In 2005 Janine became the solo presenter of the Breakfast Show, helping it to become one of the most popular, lively and listened to breakfast shows in BBC Radio Stoke’s 40 years of broadcasting.
Television editor at BBC Cambridge Lisa Reynolds said: "I'm delighted that Janine is joining Look East as our new reporter/presenter in Cambridge.
"Janine has been presenting the Breakfast show on BBC Radio stoke since 2003, and was involved in the local TV pilot in Staffordshire.
"She is bubbling with ideas and enthusiasm and will be a great addition to our team."
