Jenny Kirk

BBC Look East breakfast presenter Jenny Kirk was born in Northampton, but moved to Rugby, Warwickshire, when she was young.

After studying English at Sheffield Hallam University, Jenny went on to do a PGCE teaching qualification in English and Drama at Warwick University. Her working life  began as a secondary school teacher in Northamptonshire.

After two years, she decided to jet off to Prague to teach Czech business people how to speak English. It was there she got the bug for presenting after a stint of work experience for Radio Free Europ. She has not looked back since!

On her return, Jenny went into commercial radio, becoming a reporter and presenter with a radio station in Essex. She then worked as a news editor for stations in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

Before moving to Norfolk, Jenny lived and worked on Jersey in the Channel Islands for two years, presenting the half-hour local news programmes for ITV as well as doing some reporting.

This is Jenny's first job working at the BBC and she is extremely happy to have returned to her roots and the world of real news. She has so many affiliations and memories of the region and says feels she has come home.

When she's not presenting, Jenny reports on stories across the region and often films and edits her own features.

Outside of work, Jenny enjoys playing the guitar and singing, watching live music and spending time with friends. She also enjoys anything 'outdoorsy' including kayaking, boogie boarding, cycling and camping.
