Catch Ewan while he's up ... ©
Once you've fallen off one of these bikes, it's not easy to get back on.
Claudio and Russ help heave Ewan back on to his bike.
'I mean once it goes, you've got to let the bike kind of go where it's going to go, so I was following that principle and it just led me into that, you know?' explains Ewan, 'and there's no way you can get through that, I don't think.'
'It's like a snow drift!' says Russ, as they examine the sand. 'There's like eighteen inches there!'
Ewan agrees. 'It's weird stuff, isn't it? When you walk on it, it's like it's not even there. You just disappear into it.'
As we know, Ewan was finally reunited with his wife, Eve, in Malawi.
'So we made it into Malawi', Ewan begins, 'and look who's here now! Mrs McGregor. We must call her Mrs McGregor. And here we are on Lake Malawi, and it's beautiful, isn't it?'
Eve nods in agreement.
'She doesn't say much, my wife,' Ewan explains, 'but she's very pretty to look at, so that's good!'
Ewan laughs as Eve hides her face and turns away in embarrassment. Ewan then cheers as he points out Eve’s customised LWD T-shirt.
And there's more from the happy couple the next day as Ewan describes their journey together so far.
'Well, the general update is that we're in Candi Beach in Malawi, and we met Eve at the top of Malawi three days ago.' Says Ewan.
Eve corrects him. 'Two days ago.'
Ewan disagrees. 'Three days ago. And it was very, very nerve-wracking to be meeting Eve, because she was through the other side of the Customs, and I couldn't... anyway I was very anxious to see her, and I know you were. And with her bike, and all her stuff.
'And then we've been riding. Yesterday we decided to... oh yeah, you are right, two days ago. Three days ago, no. We decided yesterday to go up to Livingstonia. It was a very long gravel road, and I thought it would be nicer for me and Eve just to go down the lake road, which was winding, but was all tarmac.
'And so we did that yesterday and we rode all day, didn't we? We had a very long lunch, and had a very relaxing day, it was great. And we met up with Charley last night...'
'In a quiet place.' Eve adds.
'In a very quiet place,' Ewan agrees, adding sarcastically, 'not like this den of hedonism here, on the beach, it would seem!'
We wondered who your ideal travelling companion would be - see your nominations below.

Mrs McGregor
Eve is my hero because when you guys did the last journey (LWD) her (and Mrs B's) courage and bravery for encouraging you guys to go was immense! She must have worried so much about the both of you (without trying to show it) and it is with little surprise that she is joining you this time. It is far too long for a loving couple to be separated again! I hope Charley is reunited with his better half soon and wish you all a safe and fun journey home!

I'd travel with...
... that gorgeous girl from Andorra I just met today. I asked her for dinner, but she was leaving, so she asked for my email instead. Anyway, I hope she sends me some news. We'll see... I think she had something special about her, I don't usually invite girls I barely know for dinner.

Who to with!??!?
1. My girlfriend.. although she won't have it. 2. Ted Simon 3. Scott Harden 4. Michael Shumacher - he actually rides 5. My dad, if he actually ever gets a license!!!..... Of course, it would be great to ride with Charlie and Ewan... but that's going to be everyone's first choice here... so I thought I'd add some just as interesting choices!!

Someone with humour
If you doing a long journey like the LWR and the LWD it has to be someone that you know you will get a long with, so you can't really choose someone you don't know.I would choose my best friend Barbel from Luneburg(Germany) beacuse she has the same idees, sence of humour and also the right amount of crazyiness that you need to for an adventure like this. Take care Jess

My best friend
I would chose my best friend, Carla. We go everywhere together, already travelled a lot and have plans to do much more...we just have a problem...either of us have a bike or know how to drive one!!! But we can dream, right?

Definitely my good friend Carol who lives in Leeds. We've travelled together for weeks and both our bodies and friendship survived!

That's an easy choice!
If I can chose anybody, I'd go with Charley and Ewan on their next big adventure! Just catching their log entries give me wanderlust for far away places! Ride on, Gentlemen! (And Eve!)

Travelling companions
Well, I guess I would just join the team! Looks like you're having lots of fun. Unfortunately I can't even ride a bicycle, far less a motorbike. I'm a good cook, though... Can I come? Anyway, thanks again for sharing your adventures with us!

Surprises
Are Dave and Russ planning another big surprise family member visit for Ewan or Charlie. Ewan's Dad was used but maybe Colin or his mother. Charlie's wife is a good candidate.
