'I really like to travel. I love it. Otherwise, I wouldn't be doing this! But I really love travelling with GPS and camping gear and gadgets and stuff when you’re doing a trip like this.'

Career highlight: The highlight of my motorbike career was definitely riding the Dakar Rally in 2006, and having the story made into a TV show and DVD called 'Race to Dakar.'

First bike: The first bike I rode was a monkey bike at 7, but the first bike I ever bought with my own money was a Yamaha DT 100, that I got when I was 13.

Greatest Long Way Round moment: Sharing a tent with Ewan. Then getting my own tent away from Ewan. I'm looking forward to having my own sleeping accommodation for Long Way Down.

Greatest biking music: 'Whatever Happened to My Rock 'n' Roll?' by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Ambition for Long Way Down: My real ambition for Long Way Down is to get everyone home safely.

What kind of traveller?: I really like to travel. I love it. Otherwise, I wouldn't be doing this! But I really love travelling with GPS and camping gear and gadgets and stuff when you're doing a trip like this.
