For a good caption I have to borrow from Bugs Bunny.

" Should've taken that left turn at Albuquerque."

Sorry to hear about the rough day. The way you described the fall I pictured a scene like something from Indiana Jones. Complete with the famous George Lucas scream that you hear in all of his movies.

Sorry bout the fall

Ewan -take care of yourself - stop falling off! Also - one of the things I love most in LWR is your interactions with the locals -can we see more of that? I think of you two as educationg us weaker (or saner) mortals on different cultures and thier people. It is a really important job -what you 2 are doing -if we can all get to know each other maybe we won't be so eager to bomb everyone. Are you sending clips to Mr. Bush?

Och! looking a bit rough Ewan.

Looks like a hard day fellas, catch a helmet full of dirt on the fall Ewan? Oh well, everyone knows a love heart lollypop cures all.

Anyway, caption continuing the Star Wars theme:
Charlie: C'mon, pick a road and let's get moving!
Ewan: Travelling through Ethiopia aint like dusting crops Charlie. Without precise calculations we'd ride right through a military coup or bounce to close to a angry Rhino and that'd end your trip real quick wouldn't it.

Hi Guys,

So how is the Daro Wat going down... I love the idea of the boiled egg. I hope you've had the chance to do a coffee ceremony. I used to be an adventure tour guide all over Africa and the Middle East, for five yrs. It's been great seeing all those places again through your eyes. I hope you make in to the Oakovango Delta, Botswana and Skeleton Coast, Namibia. If you make it into Zim, head for Carnavors in Bulawayo.... all the meat from every animal you can think of!!

Good riding x

Inspired

The LONG WAY DOWN was aired in Finland during Christmas 2006 all episodes back-to-back. I didn't blink the whole time. I was so inspired that after the melt here I enroled on a motorbike course which resulted in getting my license yesterday. I've been following the WAY DOWN now since the start lap-top open on the breafast table every morning. Just wanted to thank you guys for the initial inspiration. Hopefully one day I'll make an adventure come true. Brilliant stuff!

Pizza in Addis

Hi guys, listened to Charlie on Chris Moyles this morning - sounds like you're having a great time in Ethiopia. I used to get rocks thrown at me as well in Ethiopia when out on my bike (pedal power though) working in Bahir Dar.

If Charlie is missing Pizza that much, I used to go to a place called the Milk House in Addis (near the Hilton) which does some great Pizza and Beer (I'd recomend St Georgis beer) owned by a French company - but not the Ethiopian government!

Good look,

General Interest

Hi Ewan and Charley.

When I heard about this trip I was hoping you might come through the West Midlands in order to get South. No news or publicity came out about this journey so I didn't know at what point you would pass through. I then checked your status and you had already left the country as it was! Oh well, good luck with the trip! Can't wait to see the show!
