Does London need more bridges to help overcome the North & South divide?

more bridges have been needed for years, with the growing amount of traffic it can only get worse, more crossings please.

A bridge was planned between Thamesmead and Beckton bringing much needed redevelopment to these deprived areas of the city. Needless to say Boris (rich boy) Johnson has pulled the plug. It will not benefit his super rich friends, he and other Tories like him him (Cameron, Osbourne) will never invest public money in regeneration. These guys are in it for their own interests, not for lifting areas out of poverty and giving those less privileged than themselves a chance to benefit form improved infrastructure. Expect gimmicks and sound bites and cutting of funding for really helpful initiatives

Yes we need more bridges east of tower bridge and another bridge east of the dartford crossing for people in lent to get to essex.

we need a bridge from canary wharf to the south bank - at rotherhithe. As the city moves east, tower bridge is now too central as the last bridge over the thames to the east.
