No flash in the pan

Shooting down the opposition, this four-piece are on tour, in the shops and about to fire themselves into your life. Give them the welcome they deserve...!

Flashguns are west London lads Samuel, Olly, (another) Olly and Giles. This gang of four, split between Brighton and London, have been playing as a unit for just over a year, with Sam and Giles preceding Flashguns with five years of playing in school bands.

Now reaching a whole new level of maturity, the band have been picked up by London label, Blue Flowers Records, and are now looking forward to their debut single release with our London Calling featured track, Timehouse Blue.

Mixing frenetic strumming with the pumping addition of the Hammond organ results in some true pop magic from these guys, whose other material includes the MySpace-featured Bells at Midnight, complete with plinky-plunky glockenspiel of all things.

Flashguns get trigger happy

With influences seeping from the deepest reaches of 80s Joy Division to Biffy Clyro and Nirvana, they're a dark, driven lot, but not without their melodies  - and this is what really carries the band.

Perfect ingredients, it would seem, for the Reading and Leeds festival they played earlier in the year, which to date has tipped their top gigs list into the mainstream.

Keep track of Flashguns on their MySpace, where you'll find details of latest releases and tour schedules. See right for links.
