Kate Allen

Find out more about Kate Allen, one of BBC London's weather presenters

Kate Allen joined BBC London, or GLR as it was, way back in 1999, having cut her teeth reporting on various local BBC radio stations across the south east under the umbrella of AA Roadwatch.

You will recognise Kate's voice and face as one of the BBC London travel team's pioneers, which for the last nine years has helped pave the way towards the superb travel information our listeners, viewers and online users enjoy today.

In the world outside, Kate can often be found dancing in fields across the country donning a pair of headphones and entertaining her young family... She has perfected the art of wet day play this summer!

Ready for a new challenge and following a long standing relationship with all things natural, Kate started training for her new position earlier this year.

It involved becoming the small cloud that followed Peter Cockroft around the office, thankfully she didn't emit too many particles or precipitation.

So, Kate now joins the weather team here in London hoping to turn at least a little part of our grey skies some kind of bluish!
