Platforms are being extended, South Quay station near Canary Wharf is being moved completely and Tower Gateway station after an overhaul. This will all mean disruption for regular commuters. Tower GatewayThe reason for the full closure of Tower Gateway was to change the way passengers board trains. There is now one large 'horseshoe' platform allowing passengers to board and alight through both sides of the train. The new platform is also longer than before. Other stationsThere will be longer platforms at All Saints, Beckton, Blackwall, Bow Church, Crossharbour, Custom House, Deptford Bridge, Devons Road, East India, Gallions Reach, Greenwich, Limehouse, Lewisham, Mudchute, Prince Regent, Pudding Mill Lane, Royal Albert, Shadwell, Westferry, West India Quay. Mudchute has a new third platform. A brand new station is being built at South Quay as the current station is on a bend at either end, so can't be extended. TfL expect to have the work completed by early 2010. last updated: 05/03/2009 at 11:16 Have Your SayHave the changes disrupted your journey? Let us know below.
