Everyone knows that small change doesn’t buy you much these days… But has anyone ever really tried to see what they could get? In the third session of BBC London’s HOME project, young film-makers were given the princely sum of 20 pence each and asked to see what they could buy in the area around Brick Lane and Bethnal Green. The HOME project teams up local BBC journalists with young adults in Tower Hamlets, offering them guidance on how to create their own films, radio clips and pictures about their local area. What can you get? Quite a lot actuallyAfter a couple of hours of searching for their 20 pence items, the participants came back and talked about their journeys, while they filmed each other. The results were surprising: One person managed to buy a small piece of art from local artist Roger Molloy. Another purchased a 2-litre bottle of coca-cola, while one other got a stink bomb. You can see the uncut film produced from this session by clicking on the video link above. BBC London is running HOME with support from Tower Hamlets Partnership, Arts Council England, Rich Mix, CSV and Crisis.last updated: 01/04/2008 at 16:37 You are in: London > London Local > Your Stories > Home Project > Money, money, money |
