At the end of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history month, parents in Tower Hamlets have come together to create new initiative for gay and lesbian families. Rainbow Parents, created by young mother Rosie Green, is a support network for families with two mums or two dads. "There was nothing like it in Tower Hamlets. Rather than complain and moan about the lack of services I thought I would set up the group," says Rosie. "At the moment we have about sixteen families. It is very early days but I hope it goes for strength to strength." Cara and Audra Williams are a lesbian couple from the United States, who have been living in Tower Hamlets for over a year with their 15-month-old son. They have joined Rainbow Parents to share their experience with other gay and lesbian parents. "I can't say it’s been easy," says Cara, "There’s been a lot more explanation than any other parent ever has to make."
