Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle Club are barely out of short trousers, but that's not really what everyone's talking about. With debut E.P. out now through new young label Mmm.... Records, these are one of the sharpest outfits on the current circuit.

Like, the mottled like oily puddles you'd gaze into as a kid, The Bombay Bicycle Club have the ability to totally beguile with the dirtied up beauty of their song writing. Through an unquestionable gritty overtone, the sound of this band seems never-the-less predominantly one that ripples soft and wide.

As some of North London's finest exports, front man Jack, bassist Ed, drummer Suren and Jamie on elevating guitar have achieved much since forming two years ago. The band have completed a UK tour with three home coming gigs at London's Roundhouse, Astoria and ULU respectively.

Signed to teeny weeney white hot London label Mmm.... Records, the band's debut E.P. How We Are, is currently flying off the shelves, not to mention down the wires with the tracks available online at the band's website.

All that touring can work up an appetite

Indie rockers at heart, the band's influences include favourites of 2007, Arcade Fire, as well as Sonic Youth, Nick Drake and The Strokes, to whom they are relentlessly compared. Method Man, too is amongst their favourites, with track Simon Says on their list of wannabe covers.

Having achieved the high of their lives playing a packed out Reading festival stage at the end of the summer, the band are already planning more live action before the year is out. The momentum is at break neck speed and Bombay Bicycle Club are not about to stop peddling for anyone.

For the latest tour dates and to get your hands on that E.P. freewheel to the band's website, bombaybicycleclubmusic.com, or MySpace, myspace.com/bombaybicycleclub.  See right-hand column for links.
