Vinny Vinny

So good they named them twice...

Vinny Vinny

Not content with Peter Pan's Adventure Island, this spawn of Southend has been looking for thrills in the way of indie stardom...

Formed in 2005, Vinny Vinny came about after members Nunny, Dan, Luke and Mitch decided that Essex was in dire need of some... filthy soul.

Starting their appropriately-named Filthy Soul club nights in the venues of Chelmsford and Southend, the boys soon went on to form a band of their own based on their appreciation of all things indie and, er, soulful.

London Calling: Vinny Vinny

Vinny Vinny play Russia!

Little wonder then that Van Morrison, James Brown and the more current Amy Winehouse all rate highly, while The Doors' LA Woman tops Vinny Vinny's list of songs they'd most like to cover.

London Calling spotted the band's talent after hearing the demo track Broke Up The Family, but we're not the only ones. As well as achieving National press coverage, Vinny Vinny were scouted to support the Holloways at this year's Ibiza Rocks - a suitably filthy affair, by all accounts.

With the demo and live shows proving popular, it's high time this group release a single. Thank goodness the debut, One Eyed Maniac, is out in October. Watch this space for more!
