Your August Bank Holiday memories

The end of August is the last public holiday for us to enjoy before Christmas. We want to hear about your memories of past Bank Holiday weekends.

The August Bank Holiday - a great British institution. The last public holiday before Christmas, the last one before the kids return to school.

You may leave the country during it, you may be a stalwart reveller every year at the Notting Hill Carnival or indeed the Leeds or Reading festivals.

You may head off to the coast every year - come rain or shine - or do a spot of gardening, head off to the shops or even, God forbid, have to work it every year.

What has the August Bank Holiday meant to you in years gone by? We'd love to hear about any recollections you have of any that stand out for one reason or another.
