Email a 500 word history to nonleague@bbc.co.uk Fact FileName: Shields United FC Early beginningsShields United FC was formed in January 2007 by Gareth Allen who is currently club secretary and manager. ![]() Shields United FC First seasonThe club's first team will see Gareth Allen hopefully steer the club off to a good start and promotion from the second divsion of the Northern Alliance League is an absolute minimum target (although it didn't get off to the best of starts losing 5-2 to Cullercoats Ed.) The clubs colours were chosen as a result of the team being made up of Sunderland and Newcastle fans and there combined colours form our new strip.
