Early beginnings

Shields United FC was formed in January 2007 by Gareth Allen who is currently club secretary and manager.

The clubs first home is going to be Chuter Ede in South Shields.  The club had bids knocked back from the Jack Clark Park as predominantly that is kept for the cricket and also Filtrona Park, Home of Northern League club South Shields as they need to extend there current pitch.  United turned down Temple Park and opted for Chuter as it is close to local pub sponsor The New Mill.

Shields United FC

First season

The club's first team will see Gareth Allen hopefully steer the club off to a good start and promotion from the second divsion of the Northern Alliance League is an absolute minimum target (although it didn't get off to the best of starts losing 5-2 to Cullercoats Ed.)

The club is currently in the process of obtaining sponsorship and are pleased to announce the clubs primary sponsor will be "Natural Resources."

The clubs colours were chosen as a result of the team being made up of Sunderland and Newcastle fans and there combined colours form our new strip.  The badge is simple and is finished off in italic Latin writing which translated means "NEVER STOP BELIEVING..."
