Hundreds stuck in Tube derailment

Hundreds of passengers were left stranded when a Tube train derailed during the rush-hour.

Up to six carriages came off the rails on the westbound Central Line between Mile End and Bethnal Green stations.

Transport for London said 700 people were taken off the derailed train, and one stuck behind it, by about 1100 BST, two hours after the accident.

They were walked down the track to Mile End station. A number of people suffered minor injuries, it said.
