The biggest annual sporting event in the world, the Tour de France,  this year starts in London, coming to the capital for the first time in its 100 year history.

BBC London will have reporters and presenters out and about to bring you a flavour of the atmosphere.

Starting on Friday 6th July, the festival opens with a spectacular presentation of the riders through Trafalgar Suqare at 6pm.

Tom Watt's Saturday Sport show from 2-6pm will have all the action from the Prologue, and then on Sunday we'll have reporters out and about as the race leaves London via Greenwich and makes it's way down to Kent.

Many spectators will gather at the People's Village in Hyde Park which is a free event taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be entertainment, cycling exhibitions, displays and stands featuring the best of British and French culture, from food and drink to tourism and culture.

Send us your photos

We want you to send us your photos of the occasion - whether you are coming into central London to watch the race, holding a garden party or watching the riders from the end of your road. We'll put as many as we can here on the website.

Email your photos to: or text them from your mobile phone to 07921 648303
