Students design school image
Students from The Aveling Park School and Warwick Boys have been busy designing a new logo and uniform for the new academic year.
The two schools will amalgamate to form The Frederick Bremer School in September. A state-of-the art facility currently under construction on the Fulbourne Road in Walthamstow.
Ruth Woodward, the new Head of the school says this activity was a good way to bring the two schools together:
Posing for the new prospectus
“It takes some time after schools amalgamate for them to become and to be seen as one school, so we were anxious to try and alleviate some of those difficulties… We created opportunities for staff and students to work together and have a say…”
The Frederick Bremer School is one of the first schools to be a part of the borough’s £200 million Building Schools for the Future programme.
Who was Frederick Bremer?
Frederick Bremer was a local man who made the first car in London. The Bremer car was built between 1892 - 1894 and was one of the earliest motor cars built in the country. An exhibit of his work is available to view at the Vestry Museum in Walthamstow.
