Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong

Guitars with enough twang to make Duane Eddie weep. Bass lines driving enough to do Lands End to John O'Groats and still not waver. This band are gonna grab you by the Jing Jang Jonglies until you sit up and listen!

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong are a five-piece from London, split between Brick Lane in the East End and New Cross dahn sarf.

With names like theirs you might be forgiven for taking the Jing Jang Jong as a novelty.

But listen to our London Calling track, Lonely Buoy, or any of the group's demo tracks and you'll be wondering why they don't already have a hit album under their belts.

Together for only a year, tongue-twisters Joe Lean, Tom D, Dom O'Dare, Panda and Bummer Jong have the kind of polished indie that will leave even the coolest of London's club-goers a mite hot under the collar, not to mention all that "sweat on sweat on lips on lips on sweat".

keep-'em-on-their-toes music

Taking their influences from a cocktail of Kylie pop and 60's garage punk, Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong cross catchy melodies with a songwriting ability that will catch you out, just when you think you can relax.

Joe Lean Live

It's really keep-'em-on-their-toes music, which is going to do brilliantly in the clubs this summer.

With a constant stream of gigs to look forward to, the band are able to do the odd impromptu cover when the mood takes. It's not a regular part of their set, but they admit they would love to cover Monster Bobby's I Heard You Moved Away.

To catch up with the band live, check out their website, myspace.com/joeleanandthejingjangjong, for forthcoming gigs.  And keep your eyes peeled for their debut single, set to be released later this year through Young and Lost Club Records.
