First things first; who on earth is Fat Sue? In a band of four chaps, you'd be forgiven for seeking out that elusive Boy Named Sue.

But no - guitarists and vocalists Jamie and Jack along with Ben Pietsch on bass and Ben Dickson on skins evade any hint of a Sue.

Log onto their MySpace page and far from being enlightened as to the mystery lady's true identity, you are invited instead to volunteer your own cartoon depiction. And many have done just that!

You'll also be invited along to one of the band's numerous gigs, more often than not London-based (Fat Sue hail from Brixton after all), where they promise it'll be "damn worth it!"

Playing a self-styled genre called 'Safecore', this means a big old rumpus of guitars and unpretentious, unfettered fun.

Fat Sue just play the music they like. Why compromise? And that extends to the odd cover, too. Currently including Electric Six's Gay Bar in their set, the band also wouldn't mind cracking Calvin Harris' Vegas in future.

Warmly regarding George Formby as a legend, (and who would deny them that?) Fat Sue's other influences include good old fashioned rock 'n' roller Chuck Berry and pop-genius London outfit The Kinks.

Playing together for two years, the band have so far extended their love of Safecore to Berlin, had a vinyl release and been selected to play this year's Underage Festival.

They also boast appearances in several national music publications and are looking forward to taking Fat to the max over the course of this summer.
