Springwatch Garden Party for London

Come and join in the BBC Springwatch Garden Party for London! Bring the family to meet bees, butterflies, birds and bats. Take part in nature activities, and see how you can "Do One Thing" to help your environment.

Springwatch Garden Party

The Garden Party will be held on Saturday 9th June 1pm-6pm at the Memorial Recreation Ground, Memorial Avenue, Newham E15 3DB. 2 mins walk from West Ham tube.

This year, BBC London's Springwatch Garden Party is being held in the London Borough of Newham.  

You can enjoy local organic food, listen to music and see BBC London presenters in action. Learn how to be a Springwatch Tracker, meet animals from the city farm, and keep fit by going green.

Come to Newham, join the Garden Party, and learn to love London's nature!

WHAT: Springwatch Garden Party in Newham

WHERE: Memorial Recreation Ground, Memorial Avenue, Newham E15 3DB.

WHEN: Saturday 9th June 1pm-6pm

BBC London 94.9 will be broadcasting live from the event with a special Springwatch show. Also making an appearance around 3pm is Nat from Boogie Beebies! The CBeebies star will be leading dances on stage for youngsters to join in with.

Transport info for West Ham

This is a green event so please use public transport - parking available only for those with special access needs.

London Borough of Newham

West Ham tube is served by the Jubilee line and the Hammersmith & City line. It is also served by the District line but there will be NO service between Earl's Court and Whitechapel on 9 June. West Ham also has a rail station operated by c2c.

On the 9 June the Jubilee line is planned to have a normal service with no disruptions, serving West Ham.

The closures that weekend are;

  • District line no service between Earl's Court and Whitechapel
  • Circle line suspended - extra Hammersmith trains will serve West Ham
  • Victoria line no service between Walthamstow Central and Seven Sisters

Parking will be available for Blue Badge holders only. No parking will be available anywhere around the recreation ground.

Parking for Blue Badge holders is on a first come first served basis. Blue Badge access is via Ronald Avenue. Wheelchair accessible toilets are available on site.

Do not bring glass bottles or sharp items into the park. You may be searched as a condition of entry.
