Matchday Travel: on your way to Wembley?

The BBC London Travel Team's guide to getting to Wembley.

UPDATE - England v Andorra, Wednesday 10th June

Due to the Tube strike, Overground trains will not be stopping at Wembley Station on match day for the England v Andorra game.

However, turnstiles will open early at 5.45pm, and spectators are advised to get there as early as possible.

Tube Strike

Because of the 48-hour Tube strike due to begin at 6.59pm on 9th June, the guide below is for general information only.

Unless you're travelling in a coach party or hold a blue badge, the only way to travel to Wembley is by tube, train or bus.

Tube to Wembley Park

Alongside the new stadium complex, Wembley Park Tube station has gone through a major transformation to handle thousands of fans passing through the turnstiles.

Also, on events days, Chiltern Railways runs many additional services to and from Wembley Stadium station, located right next to the ground.

It only takes nine minutes to get from London Marylebone to Wembley Stadium station.

Wembley Central station on the Bakerloo line is an alternative, with a walk to the stadium. Buses 83, 182 and 224 also run from Wembley Central, taking about 10 minutes.

If you plan to drive to London, the best thing to do is park near a Tube station in outer London and take the Underground to the stadium.

You can pre-book tickets for car parks at Tube stations by calling 0845 680 0023.

There is no parking at the stadium and a resident's permit scheme runs in the local area. Police say they will fine and tow cars away, so be warned!
