In 2006, Jim Blakemore founded a community cycle organisation in Tower Hamlets, which aims to encourage cycling among all people – young and old, able bodied and disabled. So far his company, Bikeworks, has trained more than 80 people with a range of disabilities, including learning difficulties and autism. ![]() "It’s a really key issue to get people with disabilities and people with health issues on bikes," says Jim. His new premises in Mile End aim to open in summer 2007. Jim made a video report about his cycling company as part of a joint initiative with CSV and BBC London called Make a Difference. The project aims to give people in East and South East London the chance to make a film about something they think would make a difference in their community.
